Foresters' Magical Night for Barnardo's!
The bags donated by Foresters' members at the charity film screening are estimated to raise over GBP18,000 for Barnardo's.
KENT, ENGLAND, August 02, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Foresters, the international financial services organisation, has teamed up with children's charity Barnardo's to bring a bit of magic to fundraising.
Fourteen cinemas across the UK showed a special charity screening for Foresters members of the recently released film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in which Britain's favourite wizard once again battles against evil forces.
Foresters encouraged its members to bring along to each cinema event a Barnardo's bag filled with quality items such as household goods, clothing, shoes, accessories, CDs. DVDs and books, to provide urgently needed stock for local Barnardo's stores.
The project, funded by the international financial services organisation, Foresters, encouraged its members to bring along a Barnardo's bag filled with quality items, such as household goods, clothing, shoes, accessories, CDs, DVDs and books, to provide urgently needed stock for local Barnardo's stores.
The bags donated are estimated to raise over GBP18,000 for Barnardo's to help with the work that they do. Lisa Golding from Barnardo's said, "Barnardo's works directly with over 115,000 children, young people and their families every year. We run 394 vital projects across the UK, including counselling for children who have been abused, fostering and adoption services, vocational training and disability inclusion groups.
"Every Barnardo's project is different but each believes that every child and young person deserves the best start in life, no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through.
"Our work is possible through the voluntary contributions we receive and the support of kind people like Foresters who allow us to make a difference."
Alexis Bovington from Foresters said, "We are committed to the well being of families, as well as to supporting communities. This project seemed like an ideal way to combine the two: to have fun and help others. Over 600 bags of good quality donations were collected to convert into much needed funds and the recycling also helped conserve our planet for the future of today's children."
