Paris's Musee d'Orsay will celebrate the work of cult studio Hammer Films this month.
PARIS, FRANCE, March 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In the Night of Hammer will please horror enthusiasts staying in Paris in March, with a packed programme of films made by the cult production company due to be shown.
The selection of movies will be screened at the Musee d'Orsay's cinema and include classics of the genre such as The Curse of Frankenstein, The Two Faces of Dr Jekyll and The Revenge of Frankenstein.
Running from March 11th to 27th 2011, the selection of films is not for the squeamish, since blood tends to flow freely in Hammer titles.
Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing are among the legends of horror that appear in several of the movies.
Hammer Films was established in 1934 but is most famous for the projects it produced between the 1950s and 1970s, which revived popular interest in Gothic characters from 19th-century literature.
It is still in operation today and will soon release a remake of The Woman in Black, featuring Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.
Admission to each screening of In the Night of Hammer is priced at EUR6 (GBP5.10), with films beginning at different times each day.
