HONG KONG, HK, February 25, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) will celebrate its 35th anniversary next month.

This event has become a must-see for movie buffs through its commitment to screening everything from award-winning blockbusters to avant-garde indies.

Among the hundreds of pictures to be shown at this year's festival will be pieces from celebrated filmmaker Wai Ka-fai, widely acknowledged to be one of Hong Kong's most talented writers and producers.

Some 11 of Wai's works made from 1995 to 2009 will be aired, including Running on Karma, My Left Eye Sees Ghosts and Mad Detective.

He will also share his insights on film, art and life on April 4th 2011 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre. This event, entitled Face to Face, kicks off at 14:30 local time.

HKIFF runs from March 20th to April 5th. The organisers will announce the full programme line-up and release tickets closer to the time.
