Frederick Friedel Casts Bill Suarez and Dawna Lee Heising in the Angels Gate Film Feature A Dog's Life
Frederick Friedel Is the Writer and Director of the Cult Thrillers AXE and Kidnapped Coed

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA, November 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Frederick Friedel's latest film "A Dog's Life" is a poignant drama about a homeless deaf mute who loses the dog she can't live without. Says Friedel, "The film is basically a love story that brings together the world of the homeless and the forgotten dogs in our animal shelters. It's very touching and we hope it helps raise awareness about both of these important issues." In the film, Suarez introduces an original song written by Jill Jaxx, her sister Jan Bunker and Friedel called "Every Day Is Paris". "A Dog's Life" is being released by Friedel's production company Angels Gate Films, based in San Pedro, CA.

Friedel made two independent films back to back in the 1970's, "Axe"and "Kidnapped Coed". The second film was written specifically for actor Jack Canon and was a psychological thriller about a kidnapper and his captive. British author Stephen Thrower, in his landmark book Nightmare USA, called both Axe and Kidnapped Coed "head and shoulders above the rest of the films in their genre." Friedel's make-up man on both films was Worth Keeter, who went on to forge a successful career as a low-budget director. Friedel estimates that Kidnapped Coed was made for about $37,000, while Axe cost just $25,000.

Since then, Friedel has written and produced television spots for CBS for shows such as The Amazing Race, Survivor, The Grammys, and 2 and ½ Men, and for FOX for Beverly Hills 90210, The Simpsons, Melrose Place and Cops. He has written and produced movie trailers and TV campaigns for hit movies such as Rain Man, Pretty Woman, Die Hard, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Terminator 2, and many more.

Through his company Angels Gate Films, Friedel wrote, directed, and starred in the black comedies "My Next Funeral" and "Squish" and the retro thriller "Bloody Brothers". He also wrote and starred in the play "Lost in the Movies" which premiered at the Court Theatre in Hollywood.

Friedel is married to singer and vocal coach Jill Jaxx. She and her twin sister had recurring roles on TV's Happy Days as "The Suedes," backing up Suzi Quatro. Jaxx is a recording artist for Capitol, CBS, 20th Century, and Daybreak, as well as an award-winning A.S.C.A.P. songwriter. She is the co-producer of "My Next Funeral" and "A Dog's Life".
