SEVILLE, SPAIN, September 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephen Frears will receive an honorary award at the upcoming Seville European Film Festival.

An appearance by the British director will give people yet another reason to book rooms in the fine accommodation Seville has to offer in order to attend the event.

He is currently in the limelight after having released his latest film, Tamara Drewe, recently, which stars Gemma Arterton and Dominic Cooper.

The film, an adaptation of a comic strip by Posy Simmonds, will see its Spanish premiere take place at the Seville European Film Festival.

As well as the tribute to Frears - which will involve him being handed the international honorary award and a screening taking place of his 1983 flick The Hit - there will be plenty of other movies shown.

The occasion runs from November 5th to 13th 2010, but details of screening times have yet to be published.

One of the highlights for people studying cinema could be the European university film award, which has the theme of integration this year and will showcase some of the brightest talent across the continent.

"The main objective of Seville European Film Festival is to promote the European filmmaking culture, with a special focus on the newly emerging European film industries and aimed at introducing new methods of filmmaking," remarked the organisers.
