The Open Air Cinema Festival in Naples should offer plenty of entertainment for movie buffs holidaying in the area this summer.

Running from July 15th to September 8th, the 11th edition of the event is likely to attract a lot of attention from people who want to see a variety of international and domestic Italian flicks.

Every evening at 21:10 local time, a flick will be shown on the big screens at the Arena Parco del Poggio, close to the Capodimonte neighbourhood of Naples.

Among the more recognisable titles set to be screened is Woody Allen's latest film Whatever Works, with the prolific writer and director procuring the services of Curb Your Enthusiasm's Larry David and young actress Evan Rachel Wood for the movie.

Allen has reportedly just started to film a new story in France entitled Midnight in Paris, which is set to star Carla Bruni among other famous faces.

Other movies confirmed to be shown include Roman Polanski's The Ghost Writer, The Road and Alejandro Amenabar's Agora.

Visitors may wish to arrive early to find a good spot from which to enjoy the screening, as well as take in the stunning surroundings of the Arena Parco del Poggio.

Tickets cost EUR3.50 (GBP2.91).
