Ghost Light Pictures' Graeme Finlayson set to Direct and Produce Muay Thai Kickboxing film "In Training"
Award Winning Director & Producer of "Diamond Confidential" to start Principal Photography in Summer 2010

HOLLYWOOD, CA, July 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ghost Light Pictures' Graeme Finlayson is set to direct and produce the Muay Thai kickboxing film "In Training". The Award Winning Director and Producer of "Diamond Confidential" is set to start principal photography in Summer 2010.

Finlayson - a critically acclaimed Director/ Producer - is a "hands on" creative force currently taking personal training sessions in martial arts in preparation to direct and produce "In Training". Finlayson states that, "The best way to direct and produce a film is to know as much as you can on the subject and to really feel it. My passion is directing and producing films that showcase honesty and thorough sense of place and action, films that bring a new world to a wide and divergent audience. "In Training" is such a film."

"In Training", written by and starring Cristina Sasso, tells the story of Rachel, a female kickboxer at the top her game in the explosive and dynamic sport of Muay Thai kickboxing. A sudden change in her seemingly perfect world forces Rachel to accept the harsh realities of life and adapt her life and goals in new and unexpected ways. Principal photography for "In Training" will commence in late August 2010. "In Training" will be produced by Ghost Light Pictures and The Grasshop Group, a collective of Hollywood writers that mentor and produce films from new and exciting talents.

The kickboxing "In Training" is taken from a version of the sport called Muay Thai. Muay Thai is a hard martial art form similar to other Indochinese styles of kickboxing, namely pradal serey from Cambodia, tomoi from Malaysia, lethwei from Myanmar and Muay Lao from Laos. The word "muay" is derived from the Sanskrit word "mavya" and Muay Thai is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs" or the "Science Of Eight Limbs" in its use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes using eight "points of contact", as opposed to "two points" (fists) in Western boxing and "four points" (hands and feet) used in sport-oriented martial arts.

About Graeme Finlayson:

Graeme Finlayson, a graduate of San Jose State University where he majored in acting, screenwriting and film production, has over 20 years of experience working in the entertainment industry. Graeme brings an intense dedication and a fearless commitment to every project he undertakes. His love and passion for films and filmmaking began at an early age when his mother took him to the local movie theatre. Starting his career as an actor, Graeme soon combined his love of performing with his passion for writing and producing.

Finlayson met "Diamond Confidential" Co-Writer and Lead Actor Gary Klavans while studying The Michael Chekhov acting technique. Soon he and Klavans were writing, producing and acting together in several original theatre productions in Los Angeles. Following several commercial and critical successes in theatre, he and Gary combined their talents to co-write, co-produce and co-star in the feature film "Crispy, Crackers & Beans". The suspenseful thriller was an audience favorite at the South by Southwest Film Festival and the X-Ground on Screen Film Fest in Frankfurt, Germany.

Always looking for a new challenge, Graeme moved to New York City to take an opportunity to produce full time. Creative circumstances brought Graeme back to Los Angeles where he worked as a Line Producer on the feature film "Choker".

For the last several years Graeme has worked on nearly fifty projects ranging from feature films and short films to music videos and commercials. Such rich and diverse experience has enabled Graeme to develop and nurture his skills as a film director. "In Training" marks Graeme's fifth directorial project.
