Breakdown Services, Ltd. Helps Hollywood Go Green with Eco-Cast
An innovative new online technology is changing the entertainment industry while helping to save the environment.
LOS ANGELES, CA, July 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Breakdown Services, the online communication network and casting system used by film studios, talent agents, casting directors and actors, has paved the way for the future of entertainment by creating a new online audition system, Eco-Cast. The casting tool has already helped cast some of the biggest films being made today.
"Little Red Wagon", an upcoming feature directed by David Anspaugh ("Rudy", "Hoosiers") and written by Patrick Sheane Duncan ("Mr. Holland's Opus") is one of the first features to take an eco-friendly path to feature casting by using Eco-Cast. As the industry's first virtual pre-read audition system, Eco-Cast allowed "Little Red Wagon's" Wilmington, N.C.-based casting director, Jackie Burch, to cast talent in both North and South Carolina without ever leaving her office.
"I have been using Breakdown Services probably since it started and I trust it," said Burch. "Eco-Cast is easy, it's great having everything going on one website. Eco-Cast has saved us a lot of time."
Eco-Cast, the first true virtual pre-read audition system, has also helped facilitate in the casting of such big features as "True Grit" and "30 Minutes or Less", revolutionizing the entertainment industry. Eco-Cast creates a link for the actor to upload their audition into the casting director's secure online display on Breakdown Express (www.breakdownexpress.com). The result is a private, more secure way of uploading than with YouTube.com or just emailing a video. Casting can preview online auditions within Breakdown Express, select the best actors, and either bring them in for an in person interview or send selected actor's video to the producer
As an added benefit to actors, Eco-Cast puts greater control of the audition process in their hands. Since the actor records his/her own audition, they have the option to re-record their auditions as many times as they want - promising that every take the casting director sees is their best take. The days of taking off work and paying for parking to audition are also things of the past.
