Be Enthralled by the Devil's Tragedy in Munich
Anyone with a love of theatre may want to take in the premiere of a new operatic production during their stay in Munich.
MUNICH, GERMANY, January 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The latest offering from Peter Eotvos, the Devil's Tragedy (Die Tragodie des Teufels), is set to make its world premiere in Munich next month.
People staying in hotels in Munich at the end of February could be lucky enough to get a ticket for what is sure to be an entertaining evening of opera.
Performed by the Bavarian State Opera, the Devil's Tragedy tells the story of Lucifer as he guides Adam and Eve through a world of contradictions.
Described as "a comic-utopian opera" that presents "a world between game playing, virtuality and science fiction", this new production is likely to appeal to fans of the classic genre as well as new comers to the world of opera.
The curtain will rise on the first ever performance of this work at the Nationaltheater at 18:00 (local time) on February 25th.
Tickets start from EUR10 (GBP8.63) and can cost up to EUR132, depending on where you choose to sit in the auditorium.
Georg Nigl will take on the role of the Devil, while Topi Lehtipuu and Cora Burggraaf will play the parts of Adam and Eve.
