Director Frederic Lumiere's Award-winning Independent Drama Releases to DVD
Numerous Film Festival Awards Drive Film to Home Entertainment Release of 'Tomorrow is Today' December, 2009
HOLLYWOOD, CA, December 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This December, audiences are experiencing the drama of love, loss and survival of the spirit as TOMORROW IS TODAY debuts a single-disc DVD from Frederic Lumiere.
Greg Jerdon (Mark Hefti - WWII in HD, Fandom, An American Vampire in America) is a man who has lost everything, including his will to survive. When he comes to an empty beach to commit suicide however, his plans are undone when young Julie Peterson (Scout Taylor-Compton - H2, Halloween, The Runaways) intercedes and saves his life. Realizing that his near drowning was intentional, Julie begins the quest to save Greg emotionally as well by befriending him. In doing so, she must battle the alcoholic local police chief who wants Jerdon out of town, her over-protective father and unsympathetic stepmother, and a jealous not-so-secret admirer. Despite the obstacles, Julie is determined to give this broken man the gift of hope. In doing so, Julie sparks a chain of events that force those around her to face up to the loves they have lost and their fear of the future so they can open their hearts to truly live.
This multiple award-winning feature film debut from Director Frederic Lumiere and Writer Mark Hefti is an inspirational story about life, loss and the strength of the human spirit. Inspired by the film, 'Pauline a la plage' by French filmmaker Eric Rohmer, TOMORROW IS TODAY has been hailed by critics and embraced by audiences at film festivals worldwide. TOMORROW IS TODAY has been regarded as "an exceptional film; powerful and moving" (The Rhode Island International Film Festival). It is "emotionally rewarding and soul-stirring" (Stephen Simon, Spiritual Cinema Circle). Lumiere is "a master of his medium" (The Film Chair). Composer Guillaume Roussel embraced the challenge of creating the award-winning original score (California Independent Film Festival) for TOMORROW IS TODAY with an instrumental tone of hope and inspiration. Scout Taylor-Compton took home her first Best Actress award (The Method Fest Independent Film Festival) with the film.
Lumiere's vision was not only to create a powerful and moving independent film in which a universal audience could relate, but to also create a unique and timeless cinematic experience.
"TOMORROW IS TODAY tells a powerful message," stated Lumiere. "There is something magical about embracing our destiny regardless of the hardships we may experience in life. This insight comes straight from the soul of Mark Hefti, the writer of the film. His words have a way to penetrate the core of your soul. After reading the script, I just had to make this film."
TOMORROW IS TODAY on DVD contains numerous bonus features such as deleted scenes, trailers and compelling commentary from Director Frederic Lumiere and Writer/Actor Mark Hefti.
