"Creating Karma's" Bromance Sparks Series of "Firsts" for Two Young New York Actors - Setting off Independent, Yet Parallel Journeys
That opposites attract holds true for this bromance - on and off screen.
LOS ANGELES, CA, October 08, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Producer/director Jill Wisoff unwittingly created more than karma when she cast Rahad Coulter-Stevenson and Jeremy Ebenstein as the bromantic couple in her feature film titled, "Creating Karma," making its U.S. theatrical debut October 16 - 22, 2009 at the Laemmle Grande 4-Plex in downtown Los Angeles. The film's storyline features a thigh slapping bromance between these two young comedic actors - a film relationship that, surprisingly, rekindled in real life.
While Coulter-Stevenson and Ebenstein are well cast as the bromantic couple in "Creating Karma" - complete opposites in personality, looks and poetic talent - the staged attraction that brought them together in the film holds true outside the theater.
Unbeknownst to either, their lives have moved in parallel paths - all the way from New York City to Los Angeles, where they re-connected at an L.A. film festival screening of "Creating Karma."
"We hadn't spoken in a couple of years," says Ebenstein, who plays Kevin Kingston in the film - the one who can't get the girls. "But the moment we saw each other at the screening and started talking about what we'd been doing since the film wrapped, we were blown away by how similar our lives had become."
"We both made the big move from New York to Los Angeles around the same time, but neither of us realized it until a few months ago," adds Coulter-Stevenson, the film's romantic lead. "We're both in the same position financially...working incredibly hard to barely make ends meet...we're both really driven to succeed in the business. Could this be any more a case of life imitating art? 'Creating Karma' has sparked a true bromance between Jeremy and me, and now we're excited to be collaborating on even more cool projects!"
Jeremy and Rahad will be appearing in person on the Q&A panels to talk about their first starring roles in "Creating Karma," which will directly follow the Friday, Saturday 16 & 17 evening screenings. Visit http://laemmle.com/viewmovie.php?mid=5319 to learn more.
