Oddball Film+Video Approaches Summer '09 with New Projects and New Footage

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 13, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Oddball Film+Video, the leading provider of offbeat and unusual stock footage, has recently acquired over a hundred eclectic, archival film prints from the 1940's and 1950's. Oddball's quirky collection feature over 50,000+ 35 mm, 16 mm, and HD historical and contemporary clips in all genres. Oddball's recent projects include research for the as yet untitled Michael Moore Project set for release on October 2009 and "VH1's documentary "The Soul Train Story" (working title) , licensing for the Fox TV series "Glee and commercials such as "EDF Energy" slated for UK broadcast.
Recent Acquisitions Include:
A collection of eclectic films from the 1940's and 1950's featuring kooky burlesque dancers, automobile manufacturing films, silent comedies and cartoons, and 1940s "juke box" musical Soundies. We also acquired rare footage of the 1939 New York World's Fair.
Recent Projects Include:
Oddball Film+Video recently licensed stock footage for "Glee.", the smash new one-hour comedy series on Fox. Oddball provided of a Lady Jujitsu Coach for their debut episode.
Licensing of a 1960s Pabst Blue Ribbon Commercial for Jupiter Entertainment's
"What Do You Know About: Beer." production for the History Channel.
Euro RSCG London produced a commercial for EDF Energy showcasing Oddball's 1940's footage of a "futuristic modern" two-story mobile home from their Popular Science Collection. The commercial is currently being aired in the UK.
Oddball Films has just formed a link with social networking site BoingBoing.net providing them with eclectic clips a from their vast archive of the offbeat and unusual. The first clip a Scopitone of "Ole" premiered on June 1st.

Current Research Projects Include:
For the HBO new program "Katie Morgan's Sex Tips 101" Oddball Film+Video is currently providing vintage erotica clips and phallic shots such as volcanoes erupting, bullet trains going through tunnels, and oil gushers.
Oddball recently completed research for the Arthouse Films Production "Basquiat" directed by Tamra Davis. Arthouse was searching for 1930's jazz shots, 1960's Andy Warhol Factory scene, 1980's graffiti and pop culture.
VH1 is premiering the documentary entitled "The Soul Train Story (working title)." This documentary showcases funkadelic lifestyle footage from the 1970's, 1980's Hip Hop, Disco, Dance, and Roller Boogie Scene. Drawing on it's unique collection of news clips Oddball Film+Video is researching and sourcing cultural footage from this era.
Oddball is working with researcher Pearl Lieberman sourcing and compiling footage for the untitled Michael Moore feature film focusing on the global economic meltdown. So far Oddball Film+Video has complied footage of bankers, bank robberies, rescues, surveillance footage, and authority figures such as teachers and parents yelling at children for the project. The film is set for release on October 22, 2009.
Chris Metzler, Director of "Plagues and Pleasures of the Salton Sea," is filming a new documentary "Everyday Sunshine" featuring the funk punk music of Fishbone. Oddball provided footage of the 1980's punk rock scene.
Oddball's Eclectic Film Screenings:
Oddball Films presents a award-winning weekly cinema series featuring eclectic film programs such as their monthly screenings titled "Strange Sinema" which showcases a collection of films from their unarchived collection. Oddball also hosts private preview screenings of works in progress for select clients in their screening room. "Beard Club," "Guest of Cindy Sherman" and award-winning "Sita Sings the Blues," have all been previewed in Oddball's screening facility.
