Feature Music Drama Casts Recording Artist as Leading Lady
Pop/Rock recording artist Mandi Leigh cast as female lead "Allison Carter" in new music drama feature film Serene Melody.

PHOENIX, AZ, April 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- It was announced today by director Cory Rowe and the producers at Evil Arts Entertainment Inc., that MANDI LEIGH (myspace.com/mandileigh) has been cast for the lead role of Allison Carter, in the rock and roll drama feature length indy SERENE MELODY.


SERENE MELODY follows Dane, an ordinary guy who has a crush on a celebrity. Rock singer Allison Carter, of the band Purpose of Life. The film is expected to bring an edge to a dramatic story of love, passion and desire. Also starring JOSE ROSETE as 'Knuckles'. The actor expected to star as Dane has not been confirmed at press time.


SERENE MELODY will begin shooting June 1st and has a theatrical release date of September 2009. It will be filmed throughout Arizona.


Cory Rowe and Sean Patrick Berry wrote the screenplay based on their experiences with music and female celebrities in the rock and roll world.


MANDI LEIGH, was born in Fullerton, CA and has worked in entertainment professionally since the age of 16. Her career began as a pop recording artist touring with Radio Disney, Jesse McCartney, Nina Sky and Ryan Cabrera. In 2006 she toured internationally, singing in the Caribbean and South America. Later, she branched out into acting, writing, and dance. LEIGH has gained many accolades as a musician including awards for Best Stage Show, Best New Artist, and Best Pop Artist in magazines and ceremonies throughout CA and NY. LEIGH has also appeared on many film soundtracks including Warner Bros. "The Utopian Society" starring Malin Akerman.


LEIGH will also be co-writing the official soundtrack for SERENE MELODY.


Her most recent projects in television and film include "References", Lifetime Television's newest Mini-Series "Maneater", as well as being the new commercial actress and print model for Gila River Casinos.
