Terry Windell Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Film Direction and Visual Effects

SANTA MONICA, CA, January 31, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Terry Windell, Film Director with Fireflite Productions, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of film direction and visual effects.

Mr. Windell has 29 years of professional experience in the film industry. He specializes in film direction, stereoscopic 3D production, visual effects supervision, production illustration, and animation supervision. He notes that he began his career as a traditional animator and has since served in many creative capacities, including live-action film director and most recently as a stereoscopic 3D film director/designer. A few of his notable projects include the direction of several seasons of "Star Trek Voyager," the television movie special "Dark Frontier," animation supervision for "Ghostbusters," and visual effects designer for "E.T" and "Star Wars-Return of the Jedi."

To date, Mr. Windell has directed, designed, and supervised the visual effects for over 120 television commercials for many Fortune 500 clients including: United Airlines, Cox Business, Budweiser, Miller Brewing Co., Harley Davidson, Chrysler-Jeep, Chevrolet, Buick, Toyota Racing, Ford Motor Company, Nintendo, Showtime, and HBO. His commercials have won numerous awards including: The New York Film Festival, Clios, The Mobius, an Addie, Caddies, and Billboard Magazine's prestigious "Spot of the Year".

Mr. Windell believes it is important to share his knowledge and experience with future film makers by teaching at the Academy of Art University, and is a sought after lecturer at universities and film festivals having lectured at the USC School of Film, the American Film Institute, the Savannah College of Art and Design, the Art Center College of Design, the Scottsdale Film Festival, the Big Bear Film Festival, and the Poppy Jasper Film Festival.

Mr. Windell Attended Pasadena's Art Center College of Design and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The Director's Guild of America, the Art Director's Guild, and the Visual Effects Society.
